At your initial consultation, we will run through your medical history, contact details, perform a skin and pilosity examination, explain the treatment procedure, before and after care, possible side effects, answer & explain any questions you may have and develop a treatment plan. You will also be required to sign a consent form. Photographs of treatment area will also be taken to track progress.
PRE TREATMENT
- Hydrate! drink plenty of water day prior and day of treatment
- Keep treatment area well moisturised and hydrated
- Exfoliate area to be treated, especially of you suffer from ingrown hairs
- Avoid caffeine day of treatment
- Avoid sun exposure in the lead up to your treatment
- Wear appropriate clothing if possible
- If possible remove makeup before session
- If feeling ill please re schedule asap
- There is a 48 hour cancellation policy
- Alert the electrologist of any changes to your medical or personal information, or of there is anything you may think could possibly affect treatment.
POST TREATMENT
All treatments will finish with a complimentary Cataphoresis treatment* however it is still important to follow the post treatment advice, to avoid lasting side effects.
- Do not unnecessarily touch or scratch area for 48 hours or until any possible reactions have disappeared
- Keep treated are clean and disinfected. (Yi-zhi-Baume, Witchazel, Sapoderm soap)
- Use a hydrating & soothing lotion. (Toniq A, Hydraplus, Aloe Vera)
- Exfoliate area 5 days after treatment.
- Do not use deodorant for first 48 hours
- Avoid sun, exercise, make up, hot baths and friction
- Always apply sunscreen if outdoors
- If very sensitive apply a cold compress or take a warm bath with Epsom salts

POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
While minimal and infrequent, there are possible side effects, including:
- Redness on the treated area
- Slight swelling of tissue
- Warm sensation and/ or prickly feeling
- Headaches
- Appearance of small pimples or pustules
- Slight bruising
- Crusts
- Indurations
- Hyperpigmentation
- Hypopigmentation
- Pitting
If the post treatment plan is closely followed, reactions should be minimal and temporary. Please always advise NRE of your reactions at your following appointment and don’t hesitate to contact us with any concerns.
